Coming out blazing from the island of Maui, One Inity has been on fire since the release of their debut CD, entitled One Life. With hit singles, “Greener,” “Deliverance,” “Inity,” “Red-Eye Souljah,” and “One Life,” topping the charts, they’ve put a stamp on their distinct and unique sound. Although the band originally formed eight years ago, they recently went through a restructuring period, with the addition of three new, instrumental members. One Inity emerged from this transition ready to bring the heat and have evolved into a dynamic combination of talent and sound.

The name One Inity is rooted in the term “Ini,” a Rastafarian expression meaning you and me, or we, combined with the word Unity. The face of One Inity is a mixture of culture, ethnicity, background, and style. They have been labeled by some as the reggae “Black Eyed Peas” because of their fusion of male and female vocalists. With four singers, two male and two female, all frontrunners in their own right, they take the listener on a diversified musical journey.

Jose Tabisola is one of the three original members of One Inity and sings and plays ukulele. He first started singing in church and learned to play the ukulele by watching the elders in his family. When asked how he feels about music, he responded, “Music is an emotional art. It connects and moves people in different ways. If we can invoke that feeling in people through our music, then the art lives on.” He hopes to inspire a whole new generation of youth and believes they have the potential to change the world.
Logan “Kaniela” Kealoha is one of the original members of One Inity and is credited with naming the band. He plays guitar and sings but is known by the band as the “sound doctor” for his exceptional knowledge of reggae music, musical creativity, and versatility of instruments. Kaniela was in the Navy for 10 years, and taught himself to play the guitar when he was 21 years old. It was at that time that he knew music was his true calling. According to Kaniela, “Music is very spiritual to me. It has helped me through many obstacles in life by uplifting and strengthening my spirit. It is my sanctuary.”

Aaron Kahahane is one of the founding members of One Inity and the original bass player. He took a short leave of absence due to personal reasons and is back bubbling on the keys. He reported that music is a big part of his life and has helped him overcome some of life’s hardest challenges. He got his start singing in church and playing ukulele in Elementary School. However, he stated that it wasn’t until the formation of One Inity in 2001/2002 that his musical torch was really lit. According to Aaron, “One Inity is always growing and evolving as a band with new experiences and new music - there is no end to our future. We are all just regular folks doing and sharing what we love.”
