Artist Bio / Album Info

Bruce Zulueta has been singing and performing since he was two years of age. A natural love for music and the stage inspired him to learn the guitar and begin to compose and write his own songs in his teens. His biggest influences were his grandparents and father who encourage his talents and helped to hone his skills. Making music with his cousin Thompson Enos and good friend Taz Vegas also pushed him to be the best he could be. They formed a group called the "Typical Hawaiians" who became wildly popular in the islands, and recorded two very successful albums together, with the first winning them the very prestigious 2000 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Best Reggae Album of the Year.

Bruce was also a featured artist on the Grammy-nominated compilation disc, "Island Warriors". Since his departure from the music scene in 2004, Bruce has been fortifying his spirit and renewing his approach to music, as this is evident in his new musical creations. Enjoying life with his wife and children he looks to share and at the very least, inspire those who hears his music.

Candida Zulueta developed an innate love for poetry and books as a very young girl, which inspired her to write as a means of expression. Her other love was reggae music. Upon first hearing Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, and the like, she was captivated. The positive, spiritual content, skanky rhythms, and soulful voices, struck a chord in her that never stopped playing. Stumbling upon modeling somewhere along the way, she never pursued it with the passion she truly loved, writing and wordplay.

Her essays and poetry gained attention throughout the years and in college, became the Editor - In- Chief of the college she rejuvenated and aptly renamed, Art and Soul... she has also published magazine articles and had many poetry ventures... tying it all together, she has a natural love for singing. Upon meeting Bruce, she began to share with him her pages and pages of expressions. The creative cup between them kept overflowing until they decided they had to record this music together. Bruce's commanding and gritty voice coupled with Candida's soulful delicacy, makes for a flawless combination that create the sound of Hiyah Fire.
